Ita Buttrose
Ita Buttrose is an exceptional Australian, she was the founding editor of Cleo and was appointed Editor-in-Chief by Rupert Murdoch of his Sydney Daily and Sunday Telegraphs - making her the first woman to ever edit a major metropolitan newspaper in Australia. She was invited to join the board of News Limited, Australia, becoming the first Australian female director of this world-wide media group.
She brings a wealth of experience across a broad range of industry sectors, she has worked behind the scenes and in the public eye for major corporate, small business, governments and charity.
Julie McKay
Julie McKay has been the Executive Director of UN Women Australia (formally UNIFEM Australia) since March 2007 and during this time she spent 9 months as the National Campaign Manager for the White Ribbon Campaign.
Julie has experience in both the corporate and NGO sectors. Julie is passionate about capacity development of the NGO sector, and in a voluntary capacity, sits on the Boards of the United Nations Association of Australia, the YWCA of Canberra and Australian’s Helping Aboard.
Julie holds a Masters in Public Policy majoring in economic policy from the Australian National University. This year, Julie was selected to study Sydney University’s Global MBA Program, where she holds a scholarship for NGO leadership.
Sue McGready
Group Captain Sue McGready joined the Royal Australian Air Force in January 1987. After graduating from ADFA as a Logistics Officer she has had postings in both operational and staff appointments in Logistics and Personnel across Australia and overseas. She is currently the Director of Supply Capability - Air Force and was recently selected for the appointment of Commander of the Defence National Storage and Distribution Centre in Sydney from January 2012. She is married to Martin, a public servant in Defence and her daughter Sophie is 11 years old.
Naomi Simson
Naomi Simson established online experiential gift retailer RedBalloon in 2001. Now Australia and New Zealand’s most awarded gift retailer, http://www.redballoon.com.au has been listed in the BRW fast lists for six years.
RedBalloon has achieved enormous success since its first sale in 2001 – climbing steadily from 300 orders in 2001 to 300,000 in 2010 – from about $70,000 turnover in its first year to north of $30 million today. Voted in the Top Ten Great Places to Work in Australia, Hewitt independently ranks RedBalloon with a 97% employee engagement score (when the Australian average is 54%).
Robyn Archer
Robyn Archer AO is a singer, writer, director, artistic director and public advocate of the arts. She is currently Creative Director of the Centenary of Canberra ( 2013) , and Artistic Director of The Light in Winter which she created for Federation Square, Melbourne.
Robyn was Chair of the Australia Council’s Community Cultural Development Board, on the Boards of the Victorian College of the Arts and the Adelaide Festival Centre, and is currently Chair of the Arts Advisory Board of the Adelaide College of the Arts, Patron of the Arts Law Centre, the Australian Script Centre, The Australian Art Orchestra, Brink Productions, the Experimental Arts Foundation, ambassador for the International Women’s Development Agency and the Adelaide Football Club (she also signed up for the Greater Western Sydney Giants)
Jane Wolfe
In April 2010 Jane was appointed General Manager Strategic Reform for the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO). The Strategic Reform Program agenda is the Department of Defence’s highest priority after Operations. Jane has specific responsibility for the governance and accountability of the $5.5 billion Smart Sustainment program.
Before then Jane was General Manager Corporate in the Defence Materiel Organisation with responsibility that included Finance, Communications, Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Technology.
